- •Be prepared for high humidity and temperatures year-round. Lightweight, quick-drying clothing is best.
- •Carry small denominations of Lao Kip for markets and local transport, as credit cards are not widely accepted outside of larger hotels and restaurants.
- •The morning alms giving ceremony (Tak Bat) is a sacred tradition; observe respectfully from a distance and do not participate unless you are fully informed and prepared to do so appropriately.
- •While tap water is not potable, reusable water bottles can be refilled at many guesthouses and cafes.
