Verified 2026-07-24Indian passport holders need an eVisa to enter Japan; the permitted stay is up to 90 days.
Indian tourists need a short-term single-entry visa for Japan (up to 90 days). Since September 2025 this runs through the JAPAN eVISA system, but Indian residents cannot file directly online — applications go via an accredited travel agency, which adds a service fee to the ~INR 500 consular fee; embassy and consulate applications remain available. Correction 2026-07-24: this entry previously recorded a zero cost, which the page rendered as 'free'.

HEADS-UP (July 2026): Thailand's cabinet approved replacing the blanket 60-day exemption with a tiered system (30 days for most nationalities); it takes effect 15 days after Royal Gazette publication, which has not happened yet — the 60-day rule applies today, but re-check close to travel.

🇦🇪India passport → UAE
Verified 2026-08-01Indian passport holders need an eVisa to enter UAE; the permitted stay is up to 30 days.
Indian passport holders normally arrange a UAE tourist visa before travel — a 30-day single entry runs about AED 350 (~$95) through a UAE airline, hotel or licensed agency, with 60- and 90-day and multiple-entry variants available; processing is typically 3-4 working days. There is a cheaper route if you hold a valid RESIDENCE permit from the United States (green card), the United Kingdom, an EU/Schengen state, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan or South Korea: a 14-day visa on arrival at AED 100 (~$27), extendable once for another 14 days, or a 60-day single-entry visa at AED 250 (~$68), which cannot be extended. Since June 2024 this is a PRE-APPROVED visa on arrival — you apply online before you fly rather than presenting the permit at the counter. The qualifying document is a residence permit or card, not a visitor visa to one of those countries, and an expired permit does not count. Passport and residence permit both need at least 6 months of remaining validity.
