🇹🇭France passport → Thailand

From 15 September 2026, French citizens can stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism, replacing the 60-day exemption; the stay can be extended once by up to 30 days (Royal Thai Embassy, Washington DC, updated 10 September 2026; Tourism Authority of Thailand). Travellers who entered before 15 September usually keep the stay they were granted (UK government travel advice). Visa-exempt entry is limited to twice per calendar year: the Tourism Authority of Thailand applies this to land-border entries, while the Thai Embassy in London states it without that distinction, so check before planning several trips.

France — as an EU Schengen member — is on Turkey's visa-exemption list for 90 days within any 180-day period. Unlike the US (which dropped Turkey's e-Visa in 2023), French citizens never needed a Turkish e-Visa for tourism under the EU-Türkiye agreement.

French citizens (like other EU/Schengen nationals) enter the UAE visa-free for 90 days within any 180-day period under the EU-UAE agreement. Correction 2026-07-24: an earlier version claimed this was 'significantly longer' than the US/Australian allowance — since November 2024 those nationalities also get 90 days within 180, so the allowances now match.

🇻🇳France passport → Vietnam

France is one of 24 countries on Vietnam's unilateral visa-exemption list — 45-day stay since August 2023; the list was expanded to 24 countries in August 2025 (Resolution 229) and currently runs through 2028. There is no longer a mandatory waiting period between entries; use the e-Visa ($25, up to 90 days) for longer stays.

K-ETA is temporarily waived for French passport holders until 31 December 2026 (the temporary exemption was extended by Korea's Ministry of Justice). Entry is visa-free for stays up to 90 days. An optional K-ETA lets you skip the arrival card. The requirement may resume in 2027 — re-verify before travel; official info only at k-eta.go.kr (beware copycat sites).

French citizens need a passport valid for the whole stay: France's Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs says entry into Morocco on a national identity card alone is no longer possible (travel advice updated 7 August 2026). Check that the border police stamp your passport on arrival.
